A national pole competition in a real theatre. Two nights, three categories, workshops the days around it, at The Globe Theatre in Palmerston North.

Dynasty runs at The Globe Theatre in Palmerston North. A proper theatre with professional lighting, sound and staging. Not a studio show, not a community hall.
Theatre seats are sold through The Globe. The livestream is sold through Dynasty and covers both nights.
Each night has three categories, Low Flow, Styles and Tricks, with up to eight finalists per category competing live after the video entry round.
Every competitor performs to their own music on a fully lit theatre stage, with lighting programmed to their brief. Three specialist judges score each category out of 50, and first, second and third are awarded per category per night.
The in-theatre audience also votes a People's Choice on each night.
The weekend keeps going on Saturday and Sunday with workshops at Altitude Palmerston North, taught by the competition's guest judges. Past workshops have covered flow and ethics, power pole, basework and handstands.
The 2027 line-up and tickets are announced closer to the event.
Dynasty is run by Emma and Liam Dewhurst, founders of Altitude Studios Whanganui Ltd, the company behind Dynasty and the two Altitude pole studios in Whanganui and Palmerston North.
Not every pole dancer is here for the biggest tricks. Some tell stories. Some flow low. Some do all three but never had a stage that let them choose. Dynasty is built around three distinct categories so competitors can play to their strengths. A proper theatre, no corners cut, and a show that takes every discipline seriously.
Pole dancer, studio founder and competition director. Emma opened her first pole studio in 2014 and has spent over a decade teaching, competing and building the NZ pole community. Dynasty is her event and she runs all of it.
Co-owner. Responsible for the livestream, the trophies, and keeping a day job so the whole thing stays financially viable. Largely prefers it that way.
Around 400 people in the theatre across two nights, a livestream audience on top, and a national pole community following along. Packages run from product for the competitor prize packs through to event partnership with expo space in the foyer.
