Divisions
All three categories run across two divisions — Amateur on Friday night and Semi-Pro+ on Saturday. Before you enter, you need to know which division is yours.
Amateur
Friday 19 March
Rising stars and up-and-coming performers.
If you don't meet any of the Semi-Pro+ criteria, this is your division. High energy, big moments, and a crowd that's completely behind you.
Having competed in other amateur-level events — including Manifest, NZAPP, Wildfire, or Freestyle Flight — does not disqualify you from entering Dynasty Amateur.
Promotion rule: If you place 1st in an Amateur category, you must enter Semi-Pro+ in that category at your next Dynasty. This applies per category — winning Tricks Amateur moves you up in Tricks only, not across all categories. You may still enter other Amateur categories you haven't won. This is permanent, not just the following year.
Semi-Pro+
Saturday 20 March
You must enter Semi-Pro+ if any of the following apply:
- ·You teach pole dancing for 1 hour or more per week
- ·You are paid to perform
- ·You have competed in events above amateur level — including Pole Legends, Rising Legends, Miss Pole Dance NZ, Pole Inferno, Rapture, or equivalent
If you don't meet any of the above criteria, you are still welcome to enter Semi-Pro+ — just be aware that you will be competing alongside performers who do.
If you have previously been classed as Semi-Pro+ but have since had a significant break from competing, performing, and teaching, get in touch to discuss which night is right for you.
Not sure which division is yours? Contact us before entering. Dynasty reserves the right to disqualify or move to Semi-Pro+ any entrant found to have entered Amateur incorrectly.

Low Flow
Low Flow keeps it close to the ground — but this is still a pole competition.
Competitors cannot touch the pole above where they can reach while standing flat on the floor,
which means the challenge is making creative, technical basework look effortless and interesting.
Floorwork is encouraged, but the category is really about what you can do with the pole low.
Judges are looking for skill, originality, musicality, and entertainment.

⚠ Height Deductions
No part of the body may touch the pole above what the competitor can reach while standing flat on the floor.

Styles
In this category the focus shifts away from trick difficulty and toward storytelling.
Competitors will use their dance style to paint us a picture and bring their performance to life.
Our judges are looking for a combination of originality, entertainment, skill, and musicality.
· 2027 Update
Based on competitor feedback, we've refined how Skills is judged in this category.
Previously scored on difficulty, it now reflects how well skills were performed within the context of the performance — did they serve the story and theme?
Styles should be won by the best performance, not the hardest tricks.
